Job Description for Entitlements and Benefits Assistant position

Responsibilities of the Entitlements and Benefits Assistant

Status: Part time (Between the hours of 9 to 5, 20hrs a week, flexibility on schedule and days )

The Entitlements and Benefits Assistant position will assist the Consumer Entitlements and Benefits Specialist (CEBS)

with administrative tasks, speaking with consumers and third-party representatives and developing standard

operating procedures for the Entitlements Department. The Entitlements and Benefits Assistant's main task will be

to ensure that Department of Health and Human Services re-determinations and benefit reviews are sent to house

managers, completed and sent to DHHS for all Developmental Disabilities Administration and Mental Health

Administration (MHA) Residential Rehabilitation Program (RRP) Consumers.

Specific activities:

• Gather, Review and Scan mail received from Department of Health and Human Services, Social Security

Administration, Center for Medicare and Medicaid and all other mail for Residential Rehabilitation Program

Consumers/Entitlements related.

• Scan and pre-fill re-determinations and benefit reviews from DHHS

• Electronically and manually file paperwork received on behalf of Developmental Disabilities Administration and

Mental Health Administration (MHA) Residential Rehabilitation Program (RRP) Consumers

• Maintain Tracker for DHHS Food Stamp and Public Assistance to Adults benefits for each DDA/MHA RRP Consumer

• Contact Consumers and third-party representatives if verification paperwork is needed

• Create and Maintain rapport with DDA/MHA House Managers and staff, report changes regarding County Benefits

• Assists in improving and if necessary, re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and establishing templates.

• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks.
